Who we are
This policy explains how Keegan Electrical Co (ABN 81 345 473 898) (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and do the job. This usually includes:
- your name, phone number and email address
- the address or suburb where the work is needed
- details and photos of the job you send us
- records of quotes, work carried out, invoices and payments
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you when you call, text or email us, when we quote or carry out work, and when you pay an invoice. When you use the website quote form, we collect your service selection, suburb, job details, preferred timing, name, phone number and email address if supplied.
If someone else, such as a property manager or tenant, gives us your details to arrange work, we use them only for that job.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and give you a quote
- arrange access and carry out the work
- issue invoices, certificates and warranty information
- handle guarantee and warranty claims
- meet our legal, licensing and record-keeping obligations
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only where needed to do the job or run the business, for example to suppliers of equipment for your job, to the electricity network operator (such as Energex) where the work requires it, to our accounting, email and website service providers (including Resend, which delivers website enquiries by email), or where the law requires or authorises it.
Some of these service providers may store information outside Australia, including in the United States.
This website
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how people use it, such as which pages are viewed, how visitors find the site and whether the quote form, phone or email links are used. Google Analytics uses cookies and records information such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. We do not send your name, phone number, email address or job details to Google Analytics. Google may process this information outside Australia, including in the United States. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or use Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. We do not use advertising cookies.
Our website hosting provider may record standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver and secure the site. The quote form uses technical checks to reduce spam. Enquiries are delivered to our email inbox; the website does not keep a separate customer database.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will respond. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
